Personas

  • Arden, 48

Arden is a 48-year-old activist from Atlanta and runs a nonprofit for women’s empowerment. She is an immigrant from Hong Kong. This will be her first time in Chicago, and as a working mother, she firmly believes the simplest solutions are the best. She finds travelling as a family overwhelming due to the amount of planning required, so looks to minimise the amount of complications in her itinerary.

As a busy mom of two, I want to effectively plan my route around the museum so that I can give my kids a great memory and myself peace of mind.

  • Daniel, 24

Daniel is a 24-year-old banker that visits the museum semi-regularly, when he has a break on the weekends. He’s used to the permanent collection in his local museum, so looks to see the newest pieces and the visiting exhibitions when he’s in the building. Because of this, he’d like updated information on what pieces are in and out of public view, as well as accurate opening and closing information.

As a frequent art museum visitor, I want to engage with new and visiting pieces of art so that I can expand my knowledge on the museum’s collection and gain a deeper appreciation for local art.

Competitive Audit

To best design a website and accompanying app for a museum, I looked to other establishments to evaluate each’s strengths and weaknesses.
